PUCC meeting concludes, both parties to dissolve in a while

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Party Unification Coordination Committee (PUCC) with top leaders of CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre was held today at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar. The 'final' meeting of both the parties, in capacity of separate parties, was held to give final shape to the party unification.

The meeting focused on registration of the new party at the Election Commission by determining a joint statute, along with issues related to the political document, party central committee, and party unification announcement through news conference.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal jointly planted saplings at Baluwatar before the PUCC meeting, wishing that the party unification would be long-lasting.

The two parties will now dissolve, before registering a new party at the Election Commission.

The party unification is going to be announced this evening following which the first joint meeting of both the 'sides' will be held.
