Peace process will end in six months: PM

KATHMANDU: PM Madhav Kumar Nepal said today that the peace process would reach to a logical conclusion within the next six months.

Nepal made such a remark during the meeting with UNMIN chief, Karen Landgren, this morning.

According to Rajan Bhattarai, foreign affairs advisor to the PM, the PM informed Landgren that the government was doing needful to take the peace process to a positive end within the six-month period.

According to Bhattarai, Landgren, during the meeting, urged the PM to reactivate the army merger panel and rehabilitate disqualified combatants. She also expressed concern over the statute drafting process, besides the peace process.

Landgren is soon leaving for the US to participate in the UN Security Council Meeting, where she will present a report about Nepal.
