KATHMANDU: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a petroleum tanker at Sinamangal Chok of KMC-9 today.

The deceased has been identified as Mira Bhujel (40), a permanent resident of Korasi-8 in Kavre and currently residing in Jadibuti of KMC.

Bhujel was crossing the road when the tanker (Na 3 Kha 8854) hit her, said police.

She was rushed to Sinamangal-based Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital. She, however, died on the way to hospital, added police.

Police have impounded the vehicle and searching for the driver.

Further investigation is underway.
