People with hearing disability get discount on video call service

KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has started providing discount on video call service to people with hearing disability, from July 15.

According to the telecommunication service provider, people with other disabilities and those injured in the Janaandolan will also get discounts on purchase of SIM and RUIM cards.

“The video call service will be provided only within the company's own network. It costs 50 paisa for a minute of video call excluding tax,” said Dilliram Adhikari, NT Joint-Spokesperson.

People with disabilities and those injured in the Janaandolan can get the subsidised SIM and RUIM cards by submitting valid identity cards issued by the concerned government authorities.

Likewise, any hearing-impaired person can visit the Telecom's counter along with the identity card and get a SIM with talk time package of Rs 50 at Rs 90.

According to NT, the scheme would be effective till February 11.
