People's Front Nepal proposes 3 provinces

KATHMANDU: After a long and perilous movement against federalism in Nepal, People's Front Nepal has finally come up with three broad federal republican states.

"Nepal cannot afford the proposed 14 states so only three federal republican states should be formed," said Dan Bahadur Biswokarma, president of the PFN organising a press conference here today.

He also said that the new constitution should ensure preemptive right to rule for women and disadvantaged groups, class and communities and proportionate representation of all the ethnic groups at all three states.

Biswokarma has claimed that instead of a parliamentary system 'new people's democracy' was ideal for the country and where a solution to all existing problems rests. He also claimed that his party is preparing for national liberation struggle to create the base for new people's democracy.

Biswokarma claimed that a number of people have been attracted towards his party following the announcement of the movement.

Those who joined the party without condition are Organisation department chief and central committee member of Newa Janabadi Morcha (NJM) Man Bahadur Singh of Kalikot, Central convener of Janabadi Sukumbasi Sangh (JSS) of NJM Raj Kumar KC of Balkhu and central member of JSS Chakra Bahadur Darji.
