KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has started hearing on the proposed 11 justices for the Supreme Court (SC) at Singhadarbar on Wednesday.

The Judicial Council on March 1 had nominated  Deepak Kumar Karki, Kedar Prasad Chalise, Sharada Prasad Ghimire, Meera Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Ishwar Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, Anil Kumar Sinha, Prakash Raut and Sapana Pradhan Malla for the SC justices.

According to the PHSC would conduct hearing on the first six nominees today.

Earlier on July 10, the House Committee had unanimously endorsed the name of Justice Sushila Karki for the vacant position of Chief Justice at the Supreme Court of Nepal. On July 8, it had unanimously endorsed the name of Ayodhi Prasad Yadav as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
