Kathmandu, October 25:
The National Monitoring Committee that is looking into the breach of ceasefire code of conduct has said that it received 106 complaints about the violation of the code in the period between Dashain and Tihar. Thirty-five complaints among them are on kidnappings and 11 on extortions. Spokesperson of the Committee Dr Ravi Sharma Aryal said other complaints are of lootings, establishing camps, threats and killings.
The Committee was formed in accordance with the 12-point and eight-point agreements and the 25-point code of conduct between the government and the CPN (Maoist).
Both the parties have expressed commitment to abide by the 25-point code of conduct. The Committee, formed on Jeth 12, received 1,400 complaints till Ashoj 31 and found 834 incidents against the code of conduct.
