Plans to mark Water Day

Kathmandu, March 21:

Various programmes are being organised to mark the World Water Day in Kathmandu tomorrow.

A Water Festival is being organised at Jala Vinayak temple area of Chovar, where students will display the results of water testing, discuss water contamination and its solutions. A traditional food festival as well as photo and painting exhibition will also be held at the temple premises. Similarly, an excursion to Chovar cave will be held and another group of youths will hold hiking from Chovar to Taudaha.

The Environment and Public Health is to hold Dhobikhola cleaning campaign at Anamnagar. While Environment Centre for Conservation Awareness will hold walkathon, Bagmati River clean-up and photo exhibition at Thapathali.

The Kathmandu Metropolis and Department of Urban Development and Building Construction will separately lay stones at Rani Pokhari and office premises respectively, to construct rainwater-harvesting plants. The WWF Nepal is also holding an awareness programme on water day at its office.
