PM calls emergency meeting of Cabinet

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called an emergency meeting of Council of Ministers at 10 am.

The meeting was called following the sudden demise of former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala.

It has been learned that the meeting would take decision about the state honor to be given to Koirala.

Koirala died of cardiac arrest in the wee hours of Tuesday. He was 76.
He served as Nepal’s 37th Prime Minister from February 2014 to October 2014.

The new constitution was promulgated during his premiership from the elected Constituent Assembly.

Koirala was elected as the Nepali Congress President in September 2010.
