PM calls off Solu visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal's visit to Solukhumbu district on Monday has been called off following bad weather. PM Nepal accompanied by Minister for Environment Thakur Sharma was scheduled to visit Imja Lake in Solukhumbu. According to PM's press advisor Bishnu Rijal, the PM was slated to inspect the Imja Lake noted for being an indicator of climate change.

Meanwhile, the UCPN-Maoist activists who thronged the Lukla Airport after they learned of the PM's arrival, clashed with the police resulting in the injury of a policewoman. UCPN-Maoist activists had gathered there to greet the PM with black flags.
