PM calls on President Yadav
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal called on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter's residence Sital Niwas in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Friday evening.
According to sources, the duo discussed about the present political stalemate and ways to resolve the issues. The meeting was held for half an hour.
The meeting is seen as meaningful as the main opposition UCPN-Maoist has been agitating to demand civilian supremacy and correct the move of the President to reinstate the then Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katawal. The Maoists have demanded resignation of the PM for a new form of consensus. The Maoist parliamentarians chanted slogans during the Legislature-Parliament disruption process on Friday's protest programme.
