KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala expressed sorrow over the demise on August 6 of Janaradan Mallik, father of Finance Secretary Bidhyadhar Mallik. In a statement on Saturday, Prime Minister Koirala said the late Mallik, who was always dedicated to the welfare of the country and the people, was a legal expert and a respected patriot with unfathomable allegiance to democracy and who was always conscious towards his duty and responsibilities. He had investigated in an impartial manner the inhuman suppression by the state in the historic 1990 people’s movement, the PM stated.
