PM Oli says Madan Bhandari, patriotic and versatile leader

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli  said that the people's leader, late Madan Bhandari, was a patriotic and national development oriented figure.

Speaking at the programme organised to commemorate the 15th anniversary of  Madan Bhandari Memorial College here in the Capital today, Oli added that the late leader Bhandari had versatile, scientific and broader thoughts on the social justice regarding the national development and patriotism.

Prime Minister Oli said that the government was working out to bring a new education policy because of the weakness in current policy and system.

He asserted that an appropriate environment should be provided to the new generation which would flourish their interest and capacity.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli honoured Professor P Kharel with the Madan Bhandari Education Journalism Award. The award carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and a letter of honour.

Sudan Lamichhane and Rama Parajuli were also honoured with gold medals for securing the highest marks in Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) exams.

Prime Minister Oli recalled the difficulties, including fund crunch and lack of infrastructure, while establishing the College.

He said the students in the college should hone their talent, be disciplined and well mannered, adding that most of the college students are the same.

On the occasion, college Principal Dambar Bahadur Hamal shared the progress report.
