PM Nepal meets Prez, Prachanda
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter’s residence in Shital Niwas on Friday morning.
According to Minister for Culture and Constituent Assembly Dr Minendra Rijal, PM Nepal briefed President about the latest political development in the country, house stalemate and other contemporary issues. He added that the PM told him that the ruling alliance held rounds of meetings with the agitating UCPN-Maoist to end the political deadlock.
Meanwhile, chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ asked PM Nepal to address all the issues raised by the UCPN-Maoist at the earliest. During a meeting at PM’s private residence in Koteshwor, Prachanda said that his party wanted a package deal to settle all issues. Prachanda also informed that his party would resume third-phase of protest in a day or two if ruling parties ignored their demands. PM Nepal asked the Maoist chairman to end House deadlock to pass the budget.
