PM Oli calls meeting of Big 3 to discuss UDMF demands

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting of three major parties at 3 pm today.

In the meeting, the top leaders of ruling CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist and main opposition will discuss the demands of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front, including demarcation of provincial boundaries, and the amendment of constitution.

The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister's official residence.

The Legislature-Parliament, which was scheduled to begin the deliberations on the Bill on First Amendment of Constitution of Nepal, has put off the remaining proceedings of the constitution amendment till tomorrow with a hope of consensus among the three major parties and the agitating Madhesi parties.

Dissolving the task force formed to negotiate with the government, the UDMF yesterday pointed out the need for holding talks among the top leaders to resolve the Madhes issues.
