PM Dahal directs transport authorities for effective services

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal directed the concerned authorities to make transport-related government services effective and efficient as well as friendly for service-seekers.

Issuing directives to Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak and Secretary Arjun Kumar Karki at the PM’s official residence in Kathmandu on Monday morning, PM Dahal urged them to develop three more transport service centres in the Kathmandu Valley - two in Kathmandu and one in Bhaktapur - for the purpose.

The new centres would help ease the process of issuing driving licences, renewing bill books and receiving route permits, informed PM’s Personal Deputy Secretary Manohari Timilsina.

During the meeting, PM Dahal had also directed Minister Lekhak and Secretary Karki to manage online registration system and utilise school and college buildings for driving licence examinations.

Timilsina added that Minister Lekhak expressed his commitment to materialise the PM's directive after doing proper homework.
