PM requests Prachanda to drop NTM
KATHMANDU: UCPN- Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter's residence in Koteshwor to discuss about the ongoing peace process, constitution drafting process, army integration and resettlement of the PLA fighters on Thursday morning.
The duo also agreed that the country would face serious consequences if the new constitution is not drafted in the stipulated time i.e. May 28 and therefore they should move ahead for consensus among them.
At the same time it has also been revealed that Madhav Kumar Nepal urged the Maoist supremo not to proceed with the no trust motion (NTM) to topple the government during the crucial phase when the deadline for the constitutional process is around the corner.
Earlier Dahal met NC president Girija Prasad Koirala and President. Ram Baran Yadav on Wednesday to discuss about the same issues with the intention to end the political deadlock.
