PM saddened by Maoist non-cooperation
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal today expressed discontent over the Maoists' regular absence in the meeting of Special Committee on Monitoring, Rehabilitation and Integration of Maoist Combatants.
The PM in a meeting with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at Shital Niwas today said that the Unified CPN-Maoist had informed that they were unable to attend the committee's meeting today and tomorrow due to its ongoing central committee meeting.
PM's political advisor Raghuji Panta quoted the PM as saying that the UCPN-M was intentionally escaping from the process of managing its combatants.
Likewise, PM's press advisor Bishnu Rijal said that the PM informed the President about the Chinese President's invitation to visit China. The PM, briefing about his recent China visit, said that he had fruitful meetings with Chinese leaders and authorities and various agreements were signed.
The duo also discussed preparations for President's India visit scheduled for the second week of February, said Rajendra Dahal, President's press advisor.
It is the PM's regular meeting with the President, he added.
