6 Biplav cadres arrested for bomb blasts

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police arrested an organised group of six of Communist of Party of Nepal with a large bombs, and arms and ammunition in Kathmandu, averting a potentially deadly blasts today.

The suspects affiliated to Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoists include Ravi Gole (Kathmandu district committee member), 24, of Sarlahi; Bicharman Tamang (Kathmandu district Committee member), 34, of Sindhuli; Mahesh Nepali (general secretary of All Nepal People's Cultural Federation), 30, of Makwanpur; Bigesh Tamang (Buwakot district committee member), 32, of Nuwakot; and Roshan Bista (general member), 30, of Dolakha.

Central Police Spokesperson DIG Manoj Neupane said four read-to-detonate bombs, a pistol loaded with eight rounds of bullet, nine batteries used for remote controller, 33 Improvised Explosive Devices, party literature and bomb-making equipment. "We have foiled their attempts to carry out a series of blasts in Kathmandu Valley today. It seems they were long deployed to target election rallies and candidates. Their motive of possessing explosives were to terrorise the voters and societal peace in a manner to sabotage the election process ," he informed.
