Police bid for respite to Valley bus commuters

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has started free bus services along three routes of Kathmandu to provide a respite to common people of the Valley who have been facing difficulties in commuting due to fuel crisis.

Police would run buses along the routes once a day.

The first route police are operating the bus service is Naxal-Putalisadak-Maitighar-Kupandol-Pulchok-Jawalakhel-Ekantakuna-Balkhu-Kalanki-Kalimati-Tripureshwor-Saahid Gate-Ratna Park-Durbarmarg and back to Naxal.

Similarly, the second route starts from Naxal and covers areas like Maitidevi, Gaushala, Koteswor, Tinkune, Maitighar, Tripureshwor, Sahid Gate, Lainchaur, Lazimpat, Narayan Gopal Chok, Baluwatar. This route also ends in Naxal.

The third route also begins from Naxal and moves along Jai Nepal Cinema-Lainchaur-Sorhakhutte-Naya Bazar-Balaju Chok- New Buspark-Tilingtar-Narayan Gopal Chok-Sukedhara Chok- Rato Pul.

The buses will leave Naxal station at 11 am every day, according to police.
