Kathmandu, June 29:

Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Prachanda today said that the pollution in politics here is worse than pollution in Bagmati river.

He also said that along with commitment of the planners, active participation of the local community is essential for cleaning the river. He felicitated Hutaram Baidhya, Bhagwandas Manandhar, Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansha Acharya for their contribution to river conservation. Speaker Subas Nembang presented shawls to the felicitated personalities on the occasion.

At the same programme, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hisila Yami hailed the Young Communist League for helping clean the Bagmati and treat wastewater in the river. “The YCL has been a good help in maintaining the beauty of the city,” she said.
