KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel on Monday said that his party will lead the High Level Political Mechanism even after the demise of former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

Poudel, speaking to media persons after a meeting of NC Parliamentary Party in Singha Durbar, said, “Since former PM late Koirala was leading the HLPM on behalf of the party, it will lead the mechanism even after his death.”

“NC will lead the HLPM but some parties will also be included in the mechanism,” said Poudel.

Poudel further said that the meeting deeply condoled the demise of party president late Koirala and expressed commitment to realise his dream of taking the peace process to a logical end and drafting the statute in the stipulated deadline.

The meeting thanked well wishers who had paid their last respects to the late former prime minister Koirala following his death, Poudel said.
