KATHMANDU: A youth was killed after a vehicle carrying poulty hit a pedestrian in Sallaghari of Bhaktapur Municipality-17 this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Suman Chaulagain (18) of Sindhupalchok district, currently residing in Kamal Binayak of Bhaktapur district.

Police said Chaulagain, who had sustained critical injuries, was primarily treated at the District Hospital before sent to the Thimi-based Madhayapur Hosptial for further treatment. He, however, breathed his last during the course of the treatment at the Madhyapur Hospital.

Police detained the driver of the four-wheeler (Ba 13 Cha 6640) Bishal Pradhan for further investigation.
