PR system can ensure rights, says Pampha
Kathmandu, October 4:
Maoist leader Pampha Bhusal today said the CPN Maoist had to take stance on proportionate election system because the other parties of the alliance began hatching conspiracy against Maoists.
“Other parties took our flexible nature as weakness and started hatching conspiracy; so we had to take our stance on fully proportional representation (PR) election system,” she said while addressing an interaction organised by Dalit Nagarik Andolan today.
She added that no election system other than proportional can have appropriate representation of the disadvantaged communities. Reiterating that he was for proportional election system, central committee member of CPN-UML Pradip Gyawali, however, said that the fully proportional election system alone would not solve all the impending problems of the country.
