Prachanda returns home
KATHMANDU: Chairman of Unified CPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said he would seriously begin consultations
with the political parties’ leaders to pave the way of the present political stalemate.
“I’ve returned with much energy now and will begin consultations shortly,” he told reporters at the VIP Lounge in the Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival from London today. Prachanda, along with his wife Sita and son Prakash, had left for London on August 9. The Dahals also visited Belarus and Russia.
He warned that the country would otherwise slide towards confrontation which would not be good for anyone.
He, however, said the dialogues and the Maoists’ protest programmes would be continued simultaneously.
A large number of people in Europe have shown interests in Lenin since the last few years and have begun reading his literatures and making films on Lenin feeling that communism is inevitable, he claimed
He also said that people in Europe still felt
that the Maoists were the only legitimate government of Nepal.
He denied meeting with the representatives of Revolutionary International Movement (RIM).
Prachanda said the absence of foreign minister in PM Madhav Kumar Nepal’s visit to India reflected the internal conflict within the coalition.
