KATHMANDU: Visiting Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday received the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D Litt) from the Kathmandu University, in Kathmandu.

At a special convocation ceremony of the University held in Kathmandu today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also the ex-officio Chancellor of the University, conferred the title on the state guest.

Mukherjee had arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a three-day state visit.

Earlier today, the Indian Head of the State had performed a special puja at the Pashupatinath Temple.
