Pranab Mukherjee wraps up state visit to Nepal
KATHMANDU: Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday wrapped up his three-day state visit to Nepal and returned home.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari saw the state guest off at the Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon.
The veteran leader had boarded the Delhi flight from the TIA immediately after arriving in the Capital from Pokhara.
Mukherjee, upon an invitation of Bhandari, had landed in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
On the first day of his visit, Mukherjee had held a meeting with President Bhandari. Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leaders of other major political parties had paid courtesy calls on him.
Likewise, Mukherjee received an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from the Kathmandu University and civic felicitations in Kathmandu and Janakpur.
He had visited Janakpur and Pokhara today.
Mukherjee had offered special worships to the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu and the Janaki Temple in Janakpurdham.
