KATHMANDU: A team representing various organisations submitted a memorandum to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and urged him to ensure rights of senior citizens today.

The representatives from the Nepal Participatory Action Network (NEPAN), Network of National Senior Citizens Organisation, Sankalpa Nepal and others submitted the memorandum to the President at his office this afternoon, stated NEPAN. Marking the World Senior Citizens’ Day, 30,000 signatures showing solidarity for the cause were also presented to the President.

President Yadav, on receiving the memorandum,said that all had to work together for the interests of the senior citizens. “The senior citizens have been denied their rights at local, national and international levels,” he said, adding, “The issue must be raised in the CA and the government and media have to play important role to ensure the same.”
