Prez Bhandari's India visit cancelled

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari's scheduled five-day official visit to India has been cancelled.

She was scheduled to leave Kathmandu for the southern neighbour at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on May 9.

The President's personal secretary Bhesh Raj Adhikari told THT Online that President Bhandari would not visit India on the scheduled date.

It has been learned the visit was cancelled due to the recent political developments in the nation and speculations about the government change.
