Prez heads home after India visit

KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav who is on an official visit to India is scheduled to return to Nepal on Thursday.

During his India visit he held talks with his counterpart Indian President Pratibha Patil, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna, Indian Socialist Party chairman Mulayam Singh Yadav and other high level officials.

Meanwhile, the two countries also signed four agreements which include air services, extention of Indian railway link to five border points with Nepal, construction of a Polytechnic institute in Hetauda and a Friendship Building in Birgunj.

On Wednesday he went to Haridwar for a pilgrimage.

President Yadav and his 27-member delegation had set out for India for an official visit at the invitation of Indian President Prathibha Patil by a special fight of Nepal Airlines on February 15.
