Prez Yadav calls on all to unite for reconstruction

GORKHA: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has urged one and all to unite and involve in reconstruction of the country.

Stating that the recent quake had destroyed villages and settlements, he said that support of all was indispensible to take the rebuilding task ahead in a systematic way.

President Yadav, who arrived at Gorkhabazaar by helicopter to inspect the damage caused by the quake, said, "Now all should build houses only after carrying out geological and soil test."

He said that door has been opened for new constitution writing process, adding that the country would get the new constitution soon and it would move ahead towards the path of development.

The President also suggested the people to complete the construction of temporary shelters before the rainy season. He said, "I am a 'tablet doctor'. Geologists should carry out geological test of areas to know whether or not the places are suitable for settlement."

President Yadav said that we all should be united for the development of systematic settlement without hampering natural heritages.

He also stressed the need of constructing quake-resistant buildings. President Yadav said the quake has knocked our door asking us to develop systematic settlement.

The Head of State also attended a programme organised at the Bhairabi Dal Battalion of the Nepalese Army. On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Gorkha, Uddhav Prasad Timalsena, familiarised President Yadav about the rescue and relief operation after the quake and challenges.

The President left here for Saurpani for an inspection.

President Yadav was accompanied by Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Chairman of the Sadbhawana Party Rajendra Mahato and CPN-United leader Chandra Dev Joshi.

After visiting Saurpani, he is scheduled to visit Dhading district today itself.
