KATHMANDU: A prisoner died in course of treatment at the Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, on Friday.

Police said the deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Gopal Rai of Kaule-1 in Khotang district.

Rai, a murder convict, had suffered from heart-related complications and was rushed to the Bir Hospital, on Thursday. However, he breathed his last there a day later.

Rai was serving his sentence at the Central Jail in Kathmandu.
