Promotion of Ayurveda sought

Kathmandu, June 22:

People working in the field of ayurveda today said the government should pay more attention to this field.

They said students pursuing Bachelor Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery have been unable to make progress in life.

The government allotted only 3.49 per cent of the total health budget to the ayurveda sector, which accounted 0.17 per cent of the total budget, said Dr Rajendra Kumar Giri, an ayurveda doctor at the Department of Ayurved.

“The department is unable to provide employment opportunities to fresh graduates due to its economic condition,” said Dr Giri, speaking at an interaction on ‘Ayurvedic medicine in the changed scenario’.hile, some Indian Universities have stopped admitting Nepali BAMS graduates citing lack of adequate infrastructure here.
