BHAKTAPUR:  Property worth around Rs 2.2 million was destroyed in two separate incidents of fire in Bhaktapur on Friday.

A fire triggered by short circuit reduced a house belonging to Ramesh Nath Dhungel at Katunje, Suryabinayak, to ashes.  Property worth Rs 2.1 million was destroyed in the fire, according to DSP Rewati Raman Pokhrel.

The fire was brought under control with the joint efforts of police, locals and fire engine. Similarly,  a fire that broke out in the house belonging to Chandrika Budhathoki of  Duwakot, Changunarayan Municipality, destroyed property worth Rs 100,000.
