KATHMANDU: Property worth around Rs 979,000 was destroyed in a fire in Harisiddhi Mode of Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-30 on Wednesday.

A three-storey house belonging to Rajendra Maharjan caught fire destroying Rs 400,000 cash and other valuables worth around Rs 579,000.

According to the police, cooking gas leakage had sparked the fire.

Police said they are investigating further into the case.
