Kathmandu, December 18:

A group of 10 unidentified persons looted property worth over one million from the house of Prakash GC at Greenland chowk in Gongabu this morning.

According to Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju, the looters armed with Khukuris broke into the house and overpowered the family members. “They took away property worth over one million rupees, including Rs 5 lakh in cash and 35 tolas of gold jewellery,” said DSP Pradhumna Karki. The police seized a Khukuri and an iron-rod from the house, he said.

Meanwhile, a police team at the Tribhuvan International Airport arrested one Dinesh Pradhan with 1.7 kg of hashish this afternoon. He was to take off for Bangkok in Thai Airlines. The police found the narcotics from him at the departure section.
