KATHMANDU: Property worth around Rs 1 million was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at an electric shop in Ghattekulo of KMC-22 on Thursday.

The cause behind the fire that broke out in the shop of Ram Bahadur Shrestha was electric short circuit.

The fire was later taken under control with the help of locals and police personnel backed by a fire engine.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
