Rainfall to continue

KATHMANDU: The eastern end of monsoon trough is running close to the foothill of Himalayas due to which increased rainfall activity is possible in the western region, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said on Thursday.

The far-eastern hilly and Tarai region might experience moderate to heavy showers at few places. Intermittent showers will occur in some places of the central and western region, it informed. According to MFD, the low pressure system is lying in the Madhya Pradesh of India and it is moving in a northwest direction.

The effect of isolated low pressure system developing in the western region coupled with the moisture from Bay of Bengal might cause heavy downpours at few places in the west for couple of days.
