LALITPUR: The Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel, has arrested Dambar Bahadur Adhikari, 45, of Tanahun on charge of raping a 19-year-old girl. He was arrested from an undisclosed place in Kathmandu on Wednesday. According to the Metropolitan Police Range, Adhikari had lured the girl into a hotel in Man Bhawan on July 16 and raped her.

Cyclist killed

KATHMANDU: A cyclist died after his bicycle collided with two motorbikes in Kirtipur on Tuesday. Bijay Mahato, 32, of Koriyatar, Sarlahi, died on the spot. Barmadev Mahato, who was riding pillion on Bijay’s bicycle, has sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Kirtipur-based Model Hospital. Police have detained riders of both the motorcycles for investigation.

House burgled

KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs 152,000 was stolen from a house in Kageshwori Manahara Municipality on Tuesday. Kumar Basnet had reported that Rs 30,000 and gold jewellery were burgled from his shanty made up of corrugated zinc sheets. The culprits are said to be at large. Investigation is on, said police.
