Rastrakavi Ghimire to write an epic
Kathmandu: National Poet (Rastrakavi) Madhav Prasad Ghimire has shared that he is bringing out an epic, encompassing experiences of his century-long life.
He disclosed this while addressing a reunion programme held on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of establishment of the Federation of National Senior Citizens on Wednesday.
Rastrakavi Ghimire further shared that he will publish the epic in a few months on the occasion of his birth centenary.
Pointing out the need of care, compassion and love to senior citizens by the families, he called for the government to bring effective support package for senior citizens for their social security.
Federation's Acting Chairperson Madan Das Shrestha said that families, societies, and nation should utilize the experience and expertise of senior citizens and follow their directions in building a prosperous society.
Shrestha informed that there are around 2.7 million senior citizens in the country and the Federation has its chapters in 65 districts.
The Federation was established six years ago on December 27, 2011.
