Rein in ambition, Deuba tells MPs at NC(D) meet
Kathmandu, May 21:
The NC (D) Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting today saw its leader Sher Bahadur Deuba asking lawmakers to cooperate with him while he figures out prospects of the NC(D)’s unification with the NC.
Deuba, however, did not elaborate on the unification formula. He also asked the lawmakers not to be over-ambitious since “I will not be able to wangle too many ministerial berths for you.”
He also dwelt on the need to effectively enforce the decisions taken by parliament. The party also deliberated on the new HoR Regulation which are being drawn up in the light of the HoR Proclamation which “has done away with many traditions and hence the need for a new set of Regulations to govern the functioning of the HoR.”
Lawmaker Ramesh Lekhak, who is one of the members of the task force working to draw up the document, said: “It could take a few more days before the alliance finalises the draft before presenting it in the HoR”.
The NC (D) lawmakers are scheduled to discuss the document on Monday morning.
