KATHMANDU: A project for online record of Valley dwellers is yet to begin owing to the confusion due to the frequent changes of government.

Moreover, the conspicuous silence by the budget has pushed the project in limbo. With a view to keeping the details of the residents, the erstwhile Maoist-led government had announced the programme.

“The recent budget has kept mum over the same,” said Tribhuvan Man S Pradhan, chief, IT Section at the municipal body. According to him, even if the government does not continue the programme, the KMC will proceed to update the data of the population.

“The Council Meeting of the KMC being held within a month will approve the programme. Thereafter, we will carry out a survey, which will be more extensive than the census,” he claimed.
