Kathmandu, December 15:

The Human Rights and Peace Society is going to initiate a special campaign focused on the topic of climate change and global warming.

As part of the campaign for climate change and global warming, the Human Rights and Peace Society district chapters will organise symposiums on the topic in more than 50 districts across the country from mid-January, 2008.

The Human Rights and Peace Society stated that it will organise a national-level symposium after the completion of the district-level symposiums by mid-March.

It is expected that the campaign for climate change will help in taking effective measures in an integrated manner for environment protection and in formulating a national action plan regarding this, the Human Rights and Peace Society, issuing a release today, stated.
