Rishiram Ghimire appointed Nepal's envoy to Russia

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday appointed Rishiram Ghimire as Nepal's Ambassador to Russia.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers had recommended Ghimire for the ambassadorial position at the Russian Federation-based Nepali mission along with other seven career diplomats.

The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee had endorsed the eight names after the Cabinet's nomination.

Following the Cabinet and the PHSC decisions, Bhandari made the appointment as per Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, a press released issued by the President's Office informed today.

Rishiram Ghimire, who hails from Maula VDC-6 of Dhurkot in Gulmi district, currently serves as a joint secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
