Roads linking Nepal with China prioritised

Kathmandu, February 12

The government has prioritised construction, expansion and blacktopping of four road sections that link Nepal with the Chinese border.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport Devendra Karki informed that the ministry had prioritised construction of road sections that link Kimathanka in Sankhuwasabha, Tatopani in Sindhupalchowk, Kerung in Rasuwa and Korala in Mustang with China. The government is planning to construct all these road sections within two years.

The 40 km road section from Barhabishe to Kodari would also be blacktopped. Similarly, the Department of Roads stated that road section up to Kerung would be upgraded to two-lane. The Government of China had shown interest in supporting construction of the 40 km road section from Barhabishe to Tatopani.
