Robber, bike thief held

Kathmandu, June 8:

The Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, arrested a member of a robbers’ group from his rented apartment in Lalitpur yesterday. Members of the group were found to be burgling houses by identifying themselves as Maoists.

Mukti Lama alias Rabi, 20, of Makawanpur, was one among the seven people who had stolen cash and valuables worth Rs 183,200 from a shop at Kamalachhi two months ago.

In another incident, the police held Raj Kumar Karki, who hails from Bara and had been staying in Kalanki, on the charge of cheating many people.

Meanwhile, the police arrested two persons while they were stealing diesel from two buses at Sita Garage, Baphal.

Prakash Subedi and Dinesh Wagle were held with 200 litres of stolen diesel.

The police also held Deepak Lama on the charge of stealing a motorcycle. Lama had stolen the motorcycle from Thamel yesterday.
