Kavre, October 3

Vice-chair Laxmi Bartaula of Roshi Rural Municipality in Kavre has proposed to buy ambulances from the budget allocated for her to buy vehicle. The executive meeting has passed her proposal.

“I had proposed to buy ambulances for children and elderly at the meeting today,” she said. The rural municipality had allocated over Rs 2 million to buy vehicle in the last fiscal. She said she had not used the vehicle provided by the local level after being elected vice-chair of the RM.

Bartaula said she had decided to offer her vehicle budget to buy ambulances with the aim of providing timely treatment facility to the people of remote areas. She informed that residents of the rural municipality, Namobuddha Municipality, Mahabharat Rural Municipality, among other neighbouring districts, would benefit.

Bartaula also declared that she would invest the budget allocated for her fuel expenses in social service. She has been helping orphans and physically challenged children from the amount allocated for fuel expenses. She said she had yet to get even the meeting allowance.
