Kathmandu, March 30:
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party chairman Pashupati Shumshere Rana is in for a tough time once again, with a faction of the party organising itself to launch yet another campaign demanding endorsement of the Royal proclamation.
Peace in the RPP appeared a distant possibility today, with over a dozen party central leaders holding a meeting at the Kundalini Club. The section, which is being spearheaded by hardline leaders, had decided to take serious move very soon so that “we are able to correct unprincipled approach in the party.”
The group has also been lamenting the dictatorial traits demonstrated by Rana by not listening to the views of the large section of the party. Inter alia, the group has been demanding that the party should join the incumbent government since “the royal move was the only option.”
Earlier in the day, a group led by vice-chairman of the party, Padma Sundar Lawoti, met former chairman of the party Lokendra Bahadur Chand to take up the issue with Rana.
Chand has been said to have taken the endorsement demand “positively.”
