RPP to hold CC meeting in January

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has decided to hold its central committee meeting in January in order to review the party's performance in the recent parliamentary and provincial elections.

The meeting, which will be held in Birgunj, will discuss strategies on improvement of the party’s organisational situation and revising ideology according to people’s wishes, party spokesperson Bhuwan Pathak said.

About 500 central working members, regional, district and municipal chairmen will take part in the meeting. The meeting will endorse new policies and future strategy, it is said.

RPP, which was the fourth largest party in the second Constituent Assembly, had failed to maintain its position in the recently held elections. The party won one seat in the parliamentary election and could not register itself as a national party having failed to secure three percent threshold in the proportional representation electoral system.
