SAARC secy meet postponed
KATHMANDU: The foreign-secretary-level meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), that was scheduled to take place on August 17, has been postponed due to the Sri Lankan crisis. “The meeting has been postponed for an indefinite period because of the assassination of the Sri lankan Foreign Minister,” said an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 31st meeting of the standing committee of foreign secretaries was expected to review the progress in implementing the decision taken at the 12th SAARC Summit in Islamabad.
